The day of Sustainability, the Food from the Hood Campaign, was a success. A whole week long, a group of young people, in the age of
12 to 16 years of age, focussed our attention on sustainable and honest food, by showing home-made animation films.
Where else then in Robot-crazy Asia would someone come up with the idea to design a robot which collects money for charity. In South Korea, DONA, a small robot, which reminds us slightly of Little Red Riding Hood, is the latest aid in collecting funds for charity. DONA is placed in front of billboards, on which the charity is explained. He, it is a he, holds up his hand. When people donate their money, he reacts with appreciative gestures and sounds. Like our ' Papier hier' in the Efteling park. It will come as no surprise that especially young children like DONA.

Only women on heels of 5 cm or more are allowed to take part in the stiletto run in the Peruvian capital Lima. With this race, the women collect money for victims of domestic violence. According to the organising committee, this race also had a symbolic meaning: women can conquer any obstacle.

Many residents of the poor district Vila Automdro in Rio the Janeiro have lived there for at least forty years. Suddenly they are forced to move, as their district is going to be used for the Olympic Games in 2016. The residents are very worried. Also in India people need to go to the dentist. Many Indians cannot afford an expensive treatment. Fortunately, street dentists are the solution: at the price of 80 rupees, one can be helped. These 'dentists' practice in the streets, sitting on a floor cloth, needles, prostheses, it's all there. "it's not difficult at all, I've got a lot of technical experience, for example as a bicycle repair man", sais one of them in this video.

For decennia, the Majete Wildlife forest in Malawi has been neglected. Now that African Parks has taken over the management, the park is well visited by tourists. The 130,000 people who live near the park, share in this success. They have jobs there, as a basked maker, of as ranger. It also enables them to pay for the tuition of the orphans.

With cheep condoms in different flavours, non-profit organisation PSI is taking up the fight against AIDS in Tanzania. Thanks to subsidies of several companies and organisations, the condoms are cheap (5 ct for 3 condoms), and both the distributor and the retailer earn from it.
The HIV-problem in Tanzania is very substantial. One in very ten young adults has HIV, amongst prostitutes this amount lies at 30%. However, this approach sees to work; during the past years, the amount of infections amongst youngsters has decreased by 25%.
